What is the difference between Open Pocket and Split-Pocket?
An Open Pocket drum is a single compartment. A Split-Pocket drum is divided into three compartments, which lets one machine run three separate batches. Split-Pocket is a Unica patented design.
Why is a Split-Pocket drum divided into three compartments?
Each compartment is a 120° segment of one cylinder. The machine turns the cylinder to bring each compartment to the door, so one machine runs three separate batches without mixing them, and the operator empties one compartment at a time instead of the whole load.
Does Unica manufacture tunnel washers?
No. Unica builds washer-extractors only, in three lines: Open Pocket, Split-Pocket and the Medicare hygienic barrier range.
Where are Unica machines made?
In Merchtem, Belgium. Unica has manufactured washer-extractors there since 1932 and the machines carry CE certification.
